Moroccan Brass, Copper and Metalwork

Handmade Moroccan brass and copper, hammered, pierced and engraved by hand in Marrakesh and Fes, each piece shipped with an Origin Passport recording its city and craft. Moroccan metalwork is the hand craft of shaping brass and copper sheet: hammering gives the surface its soft facets, piercing cuts patterns that throw light and shadow, and engraving chisels fine lines into the metal. Lighting is the largest part of this collection, with pierced lanterns, pendant lights and wall sconces, alongside bath and door hardware, tea trays and teapots, mirrors and hammered copper cookware. Several pieces carry a named maker, such as the pierced wall sconce and the standing hand-washing set by Mehdi Ba. in Marrakesh. Brass changes with time: unlacquered brass darkens to a warm patina that brass polish can bring back to a shine, while lacquered brass needs only a soft dry cloth, because polish strips the lacquer. Every order ships free from Morocco by DHL Express with tracking, and import duties and taxes are included on US orders.
