The Khamsa — the open hand — has guarded doorways, adorned jewelry, and blessed textiles across North Africa for centuries. Amzil, working from his Marrakech atelier, transforms this ancient protective symbol into a soap dish that sits flat on your counter, engraved and functional.
The silhouette follows the hand's outline exactly. Scalloped edges trace each finger. The entire surface is covered in hand-engraved floral scrollwork — tight curls and vines that move across every centimeter of solid brass. At the center, drainage holes are pierced by hand, one by one. No machine touched this piece. You can see that in the irregularities, the slight variations in depth where the engraving tool moved differently across the metal.
This is bathroom hardware with cultural memory embedded in it. The Khamsa carries weight — symbolic, historical, aesthetic. Amzil places it in your daily routine, where protection and beauty meet function.
