Lighting, placement and care
This Moroccan brass table lantern is supplied without a light source, so it does not light up on its own. The maker designed it to hold a lamp, not a burning candle. To fit a light, twist off the brass base, place the light source inside and twist the base back on. The lantern is 10 cm (3.9 in) wide on the outside, so the light source has to be narrower than that.
- A battery-powered LED light needs no wiring.
- Any electrical fitting should be supplied and installed by a qualified electrician to your local code.
- Use the lantern indoors only, standing on a table or shelf. It is not made to hang.
- Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth and keep it dry. Never put it in water.
- Unlacquered brass darkens and develops a patina over time. A brass polish brings back the shine if you prefer it bright.

Is this Moroccan brass lantern wired, or does it come with a candle?
Neither. It is unwired, and you receive the brass lantern only, with no cord, no socket, no bulb and no candle. The maker designed it to hold a lamp, so it lights up once you fit a light source inside.
How do I put a light inside?
Twist off the round brass base, place your light source inside and twist the base back on. A battery-powered LED light needs no wiring. Any electrical fitting should be supplied and installed by a qualified electrician to your local code.
Can I burn a real candle in this lantern?
It is not designed for one. The maker made this lantern to hold a lamp, not an open flame. For a candle look without a flame, use a battery-powered LED candle that is narrower than the 10 cm (3.9 in) lantern.
