About this piece
Hand-Pierced Brass Lantern from Marrakech
In a workshop in Marrakech, craftsman Azeroual takes a sheet of solid brass and begins to pierce it — cut by cut, triangle by triangle — until a pattern emerges that has lived in Moroccan architecture for centuries. The shape is a minaret dome. The geometry is deliberate. The light that passes through it is not decoration — it is the point.
What Makes It
- Hand-pierced brass body — every geometric cut made individually by hand, which is why the light fractures differently across every surface when the candle burns
- Minaret dome silhouette — the teardrop form rising to a pointed finial is drawn directly from Moroccan sacred architecture, scaled to sit on a dining table or shelf
- Weighted circular base — solid and stable, designed to hold the lantern upright on any surface without risk of tipping
- Made in Marrakech — crafted by Azeroual in his medina workshop
Material & Care
Solid brass. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Brass will develop a natural patina over time — this is part of its character. To restore original shine, use a brass polish sparingly. Never submerge in water. Use with tea lights or small pillar candles only.
