Six centimetres across and 11.5 centimetres tall, each of these cups is painted individually by Mohamed Ourika in his Marrakech workshop, then paired with a rectangular tray carrying the same hand-drawn vocabulary. Red, blue, yellow, and green move through botanical forms, geometric borders, and flowing line work, so the cups and tray read as one composed piece rather than separate objects. The proportions are made for Moroccan coffee or espresso: small enough to hold comfortably, substantial enough to make serving feel like part of the occasion.

The tray measures 19 by 23 centimetres, giving the two cups their own defined setting with enough space between them. Place the set on a breakfast table, kitchen counter, or coffee table and the decoration becomes part of the ritual. The glaze catches the light across the painted surface, while the slight variations from one brushstroke to the next keep the set visibly handmade.

Multicolour Moroccan decoration cobalt blue, red, yellow, and green are arranged against the white ceramic in a combination of leaves, geometric borders, dots, and flowing lines inspired by Moroccan decorative traditions.
Made for coffee and espresso at 6cm in diameter and 11.5cm tall, each cup is compact and easy to hold, suited to a short Moroccan coffee, espresso, or other small hot beverage.
The tray carries the story forward the pattern does not stop at the cups. It continues across the rectangular tray, giving the whole set a deliberate visual rhythm when displayed on a table or counter.

The Craft

Mohamed Ourika works in Marrakech, where Moroccan ceramic decoration is built through years of repetition: first learning established motifs, then understanding their proportions, and eventually developing a personal hand within the vocabulary of the tradition.

Each cup receives its decoration individually. The botanical shapes, geometric bands, dots, and flowing lines are painted directly onto the ceramic rather than reproduced as an identical printed pattern. As the brush moves around the curved surface, small differences naturally appear in the line weight, spacing, and placement.

The same approach continues across the tray, where the motifs are adapted to a wider rectangular surface. Together, the pieces show two sides of the craft: the discipline required to repeat a visual language consistently and the individuality that remains in every hand-painted mark.

Yes. Every piece is made by hand and carries an Origin Passport recording its city and craft. The maker is named when they have agreed to it.

How are the makers paid?
