Crafted in the workshop of Abdelhak Az., a Marrakesh artisan specializing in Safi ceramic traditions, this terracotta holder serves two functions with equal elegance. The central well cradles a candle, while thoughtfully placed recesses and notches around the perimeter rest cigars or cigarettes securely, preventing rolling and collecting ash in one contained design.
Shaped entirely by hand from natural terracotta clay, each piece emerges from techniques passed down through generations of Moroccan potters. Abdelhak decorates the surface with hand-painted motifs in bright, celebratory colors that honor the decorative vocabulary of Safi ceramics—a craft renowned for its bold palettes and geometric precision.
