In Safi's pottery quarter, Bennasser shapes local gray clay with 23 years of practiced hands, each bowl emerging from centuries-old kilns with its own character. "Every piece we create carries the patience of the hand and the spirit of Moroccan craftsmanship," he says, as mineral pigments bloom into geometric arabesques across the curved surfaces.

The Craft
Bennasser follows the ancient maâlem tradition: shaping local clay on foot-powered wheels, sun-drying each piece, then hand-painting with natural hair brushes. Cobalt creates deep blues, copper yields greens, while iron brings warm oranges. Two kiln firings seal the lead-free glaze into a durable, glossy finish.
