Handcrafted Safi Ceramic Ashtray, Moroccan Hand-Carved Terracotta

Each piece begins with terracotta that is carefully molded by hand before the decorative patterns are carved into the surface. The artisan works directly into the clay, creating variations in depth and line that give the finished piece its tactile character.

After the initial firing, the ceramic receives its colored glaze before being fired again. The glaze settles naturally across the carved surface, creating subtle variations in color, sheen, and depth. These differences are part of the handmade process and ensure that every ashtray has its own character.

Safi is renowned for its long-standing pottery tradition, where artisans work with clay, mineral pigments, and glazes to create ceramics that balance function with decoration. This ashtray carries that spirit in a compact form, combining a practical object with the visual language of Moroccan handmade pottery.

The carved motifs and vivid glaze make it equally suited to a traditional interior, a Moroccan-inspired space, or a contemporary setting looking for a distinctive handcrafted accent.
