About this piece
Handwoven Heritage from the Atlas Mountains
This kilim floor pouf carries the geometric language of traditional Berber textiles, woven in the communities that dot Morocco's Atlas Mountain valleys. Crafted by Kalthoum EJ. in her Tiznit workshop, each piece draws on generations of Souss weaving knowledge—the same hands that create Beni Ourain rugs now shape these versatile floor cushions with tribal patterns that feel both ancient and effortlessly modern.
Natural Wool, Timeless Technique
Kalthoum works exclusively in natural sheep wool, building each pouf on a traditional loom where warp and weft interlace into dense, durable kilim fabric. The tribal motifs emerge thread by thread—diamonds, zigzags, and linear forms that Berber weavers have encoded with meaning for centuries. Measuring 24 × 24 × 8 inches, this pouf arrives unstuffed to lighten shipping impact and give you control over firmness. Fill it with foam scraps, old textiles, blankets, or recycled fabrics to suit your seating, meditation, or ottoman needs.
Care Instructions
- Spot clean wool surface with cool water and mild soap
- Air dry flat, away from direct sunlight
- Rotate periodically to maintain even wear
- Vacuum gently to refresh fibers
