The Artisan

In the pottery workshops of Safi, Hassan Ibamaan shapes red clay into vessels that have fed Moroccan families for generations. After nineteen years perfecting his craft, each tagine emerges from his hands bearing the warm scent of fired earth and the gentle ridges of traditional molding.

The Craft

Hassan works the local red clay by hand, forming each piece on his wheel before the intricate painting begins. Each tagine is fired in traditional kilns, locking in the earthy warmth that makes Safi pottery unmistakable.

Where do you ship, and how long does it take?

Worldwide from Morocco via DHL Express with full tracking, and shipping is free. Ready-to-ship orders are dispatched within 3 business days and arrive in 7 to 12 business days. Made-to-order pieces add their crafting time, shown on the product page.

Who pays customs and duties?

Duties and taxes are included on orders shipped to the United States, with nothing to pay on delivery. For all other destinations, import duties and taxes are not included and are collected on delivery.

Can I cancel or return an order?

Cancel within 24 hours of ordering, before fulfillment. Returns are free within 14 days: email us and we handle the pickup and the full refund. Made-to-order pieces are non-returnable unless they arrive damaged or not as described.

Is it really handmade?

Yes. Every piece is made by hand and carries an Origin Passport recording its city and craft. The maker is named when they have agreed to it.

How are the makers paid?

Kilimy is an artisan-owned model. The maker keeps the majority of each sale; our share covers processing, handling, and shipping.
