About this piece
This pillow cover design draws inspiration from traditional Moroccan wedding blankets, known as handiras in Berber culture. The piece features hand-loomed wool in cream and ivory tones, embellished with embroidered stripes, sequins, and decorative fringe. Queued for production by Kalthoum EJ. in Tiznit, this design honors the ancient Berber tradition of weaving ceremonial textiles. The original vintage piece comes from the Middle Atlas Mountains and reflects the ceremonial craft passed down through generations of Berber women. Both sides feature the same woven design, with a zipper closure at the bottom. Approximate dimensions: 40cm width, 40cm length, 10cm height. Material composition: handwoven wool. This listing represents a design inspiration; the final piece will be produced in Kalthoum's workshop using her traditional weaving techniques.
