THE WORKSHOP

I grew up being told that Moroccan handmade doesn't belong in a modern home. Not premium enough. Not photogenic enough. Not worth what it costs to make.

Then I started working with artisans. I watched Hassan in Fès spend four hours on a single brass panel. I watched Fatima in Safi shape clay the same way her grandmother did. And I realized — the people buying handmade in New York and Paris felt something real. They wanted the story. They wanted proof.

The artisans making them had no idea.

They were in workshops in Fès and Safi and Tiznit, believing their craft had no future. Watching their kids walk away from generational knowledge because there was no money in it.

Kilimy exists because that gap is wrong.
